Trek Through the Desert
On Wednesday beginning at approximately 8:45 we will have our Annual Trek through the Desert. Parents are welcome to come. It will be outside on the field. The children are to dress like Israelites. Please don’t buy anything; a robe with a tie belt or a pillowcase, towel or square piece of fabric for a headpiece. No bandanas are allowed.
Living Stations
The 8th graders will present the Living Stations at 11:30am. Parents are welcome to attend.
Harkins Summer Movie Deal
It has been several years since we have been able to offer this. What a deal! 8 movies for $8! Get out of the heat and into the theater. A flier was sent home last week. FFT “End of Year”
The last day to earn your FFT (scrip) credit for the 2021-2022 school year is April 29. Purchases made after the 29 will be credited towards the 2022-2023 school year. If you have any questions contact Cindy cindy@olmctempe.com.

Catholic Education Arizona
Catholic Education Arizona Scholarship is due by April 15. PLEASE take the time to complete the application. The fee is $29 (the school code is “700” and the password is “cea700”. If you are a returning stewardship family, you must apply for CEA before April 15th.
Dad’s Club Meeting
Join the Dad’s Club for their April meeting at Boondocks Patio & Grill, 1024 E. Broadway Rd, Tempe, AZ 85282 at 6:00pm. To ensure they have enough seating, please email olmcdadsclub@gmail.com to let them know you’re attending.
School Board Elections
We are looking for three new School Board Members for next year. The School Board functions as an advisory board to the pastor and principal in matters relating to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic School. The school board promotes a clear understanding and communicates the mutual educational responsibility of parents, teachers, and administrators. It assists the school in achieving the goal of providing a quality Catholic education to students by integrating the teachings of the Catholic Church throughout the educational process, and guiding students toward a conscious choice of living a responsible Catholic life.
The board is composed of nine voting members. Each year, in the spring, three new members join the board to serve a three year term. One is parent elected, one is principal appointed and the last is pastor appointed. We meet monthly, fourth Tuesday of every month at 7pm, to review updates from representatives of the groups on campus and to review any new areas of interest or concern. All of the members are listed on the school’s website, as well as our contact information. Our goal is to represent our community to the best of our ability, so please feel free to reach out with questions, if you need clarification, or to share your ideas.
I would like to thank our outgoing members, Laura Barnett, Jenn Blackstad and Kellie Soper for their roles on the School Board these past few years. I appreciate the time you have taken to assist and offer advice to matters pertaining to the school. I am thankful for you!
