Dear OLMC Community,
Thank you for a wonderful first week! Thank you also to Home & School for a great Coffree on Friday! It was so nice to have the opportunity to talk and learn about Fr. Robert! We are blessed to have him. There is a lot going on next week:
*Monday is the Feast day of the Assumption of Mary and therefore we will have Mass. Please have your student wear his/her Mass uniform.
*Sports packets are due by 3:30pm for 5th-8th graders that are playing fall sports (flag football for boys and volleyball for girls).
*Candy Gram sales will take place all week in front of McCready Hall from 7:40-8:05am. The candy grams will be delivered on Monday, August 22nd. The candy grams are $1.00 each and the proceeds of the sales will benefit the 8th grade activities for the year.
*During the school day, Miguel Nunez, the Youth Minister at the parish, will be speaking with the 6th through 8th graders about the youth programs he is starting at the Parish.
*Wednesday is Curriculum Night for grades kindergarten through 6th. We will begin in the Church at 6pm for approximately 20 minutes and then proceed to the classrooms for two 20 minute sessions.
*Friday is a 12:30pm dismissal. The children may wear a spirit shirt and uniform shorts.
*The final school calendar has been posted on the website. I have attached it here too!
*A BIG thank you to everyone who has already brought donations for the auction at our Night to Soar Gala! See the sheet about themed auction items sorted by classroom in your Welcome Folder from Meet the Teacher Day. Drop off your donations at the school office.
*Join parishes from the Diocese of Phoenix and all churches in Arizona at Faith & Family Night with the Arizona Diamondbacks! The game starts at 6:40pm vs. St. Louis. Bishop Dolan, Bishop Emeritus Olmsted, and Auxiliary Bishop Nevares will participate in the ceremonial first pitch!
*First Dads’ Club Meeting is on August 22nd at 6pm at Fate’s Brewery. If you are a dad, you are in the club! Come join for community building and to discuss the upcoming fundraising events for the school year.
*Mark your calendars for the Dads’ Club Back-to-School BBQ on Saturday, August 27!
