Dear OLMC Community,

Wow! What a wonderful Fall Festival this weekend! Thank you Home and School along with the Dads’ Club for hosting this fun, family-friendly event!

Cooler weather is here! Place your orders as soon as possible! We have also ordered a stock of some new sweatshirts in the office to purchase too. We will send an email as soon as they arrive. We currently have a lot of larger sizes on hand. Please remember per the dress code the children need to be wearing OLMC outerwear. There is also a new, heavier jacket being offered on the spirit store site. Upi may go to the school website or directly there: olmcspirit.com.

Tuesday, November 1st, is a holy day of obligation. We have Mass for All Saints’ Day.

Curtis Orthodontics is offering their Candy Buy Back which will begin on November 1 and end on November 4. Bring all your extra candy to school to donate to the troops! Dr. Curtis will also donate money back to the school for the candy!

The Dads’ Club is having a fundraiser on Thursday, November 3 from 4:00-8:00pm at Floridinos.

Friday November 4th is a half day, 12:30pm dismissal. The kids may wear jeans and a spirit shirt. Little Flowers will meet from 12:30-2:30pm. This is also the end of the first trimester.

Looking ahead:

November 7th through the 11th will be the Scholastic Book Fair. Mrs. Cameron is still in need of volunteers for that week. Also! The OLMC Book Club is reading Chapters 1-3 in The Magician’s Nephew by C. S. Lewis. There’s still time to grab a copy and read as a family! See the Book Club flier for more details.

We will also be having a Used Uniform Sale on Thursday, November 10th from 2pm-4pm and again from 6-8pm.

Parent/teacher conferences are November 9-11. Wednesday through Friday will all be 12:30pm dismissals. Only Friday is a spirit shirt day.

We will have our Annual Taste of Kindergarten on November 11th, starting at 8:30am in McCready Hall. If you or anyone you know have children who are ready to start kindergarten the 2023 school year, please encourage them to sign up! PLEASE NOTE: For incoming kindergarten students who already attend our preschool, your student will visit the Kindergarten classrooms on November 8th. We want to have a special day just for our preschoolers! Please plan on attending the parent presentation on the 11th (register using the link above).

The parish will be hosting the first Food Truck Friday on November 11th from 5pm-8pm. There will be food from Casa Reynoso & Burgers Amore, just to name a few! The parish is asking for volunteers to help with set-up at 4pm and clean-up at 8pm. Music, bounce houses, & cornhole will round out the fun. Contact Chris Broglia at 480-332-9111 for more information.

Have a wonderful week!
Dr. Shewbridge
